Legal
Cookie Policy
Last updated: 18 May 2026
Version 2.0. The Slovenian version is the primary legal version.
Summary: Funkie does not use third-party cookies. No Google Analytics, no Facebook Pixel, no advertising or tracking cookies. The funkie.si and business.funkie.si websites store only strictly necessary technical items in browser localStorage (consent flag, language preference).
1. What are cookies and similar technologies
Cookies are small files a website stores in your browser to remember certain information. Slovenia's Electronic Communications Act (ZEKom-2), Article 213, requires user consent for any storage on terminal equipment, except where strictly necessary for service delivery.
"Similar technologies" in this law include: cookies, localStorage, sessionStorage, IndexedDB, tracking pixels, device fingerprinting, web beacons.
2. Funkie does not use classic cookies
The funkie.si website and the business.funkie.si business platform do not set or store HTTP cookies. We store user preferences and strictly necessary data only in browser localStorage.
3. Strictly necessary local storage
We store only the following items in browser localStorage, which are strictly necessary for service operation and under ZEKom-2 Article 213 do not require consent:
| Key name | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
| funkie-cookies-accepted | Flag that the visitor has seen the local-storage notice | Persistent (until you clear the browser) |
| funkie-auth (on business.funkie.si after sign-in) | JWT for maintaining a signed-in session on the business platform. Strictly necessary for authentication | Until logout or token expiry (max 7 days) |
4. What we do NOT use
Funkie does not use:
- Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, Google Ads.
- Facebook Pixel, Meta Conversion API, TikTok Pixel, LinkedIn Insight Tag.
- Advertising or retargeting cookies.
- Third-party analytics cookies (Hotjar, Mixpanel, Plausible Cloud, ...).
- Third-party embedded video (YouTube, Vimeo autoplay) on the websites.
- Third-party fonts loaded from Google Fonts CDN. Fonts are self-hosted.
- Web maps (Google Maps Embed, Mapbox) on the websites. Maps are available only in the mobile app.
- Third-party chat or support widgets (Intercom, Crisp, Tawk.to).
- Device fingerprinting or other non-consensual tracking.
5. Why we do not show a consent banner
Under ZEKom-2 Article 213 and EDPB Guidelines 03/2022, consent is required only for non-essential local storage. As Funkie stores only strictly necessary items required to operate the service, no consent banner is required. A short notice on the site is informational only and appears once.
6. Funkie mobile app
The iOS app uses two kinds of local storage:
- iOS Keychain - used solely to securely store authentication tokens (JWT access and refresh). Keychain is a built-in iOS security mechanism accessible only to the storing app. Strictly necessary.
- Image cache (NSCache) - in-memory cache of activity images for faster rendering, up to 50 MB or 100 images. Automatically cleared on app close or memory pressure.
Both constitute strictly necessary storage for app operation and do not require consent under GDPR/ZVOP-2.
7. What you can do
You can clear local storage in your browser at any time:
- Chrome / Edge: Settings → Privacy and security → Clear browsing data → Cookies and other site data.
- Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data → Clear Data.
- Safari: Safari → Settings → Privacy → Manage Website Data.
- Funkie mobile app: Profile → Delete account (also deletes all local data). Alternatively delete the app.
Clearing local storage does not affect the service - you will simply see the local-storage notice again on next visit.
8. Updates to this policy
We will update this policy if we introduce any new technology affecting it. Changes will be published on this page with the last-updated date. If we ever begin using cookies or technologies that require consent, we will display an appropriate consent banner before doing so.
