Cookie Policy
Last updated: 12 June 2026
Version 3.0. The Slovenian version is the primary legal version.
Summary: The funkie.si and business.funkie.si websites use analytics (Google Analytics, Microsoft Clarity) only with your prior consent, which you can withdraw at any time (section 6). Without consent, no analytics cookie is ever set. We use no advertising or retargeting cookies, and the app and the app.funkie.si web map have no trackers at all. The app.funkie.si map loads tiles from OpenFreeMap, which therefore receives your IP each time a tile is rendered; see section 5.
1. What are cookies and similar technologies
Cookies are small files a website stores in your browser to remember certain information. Slovenia's Electronic Communications Act (ZEKom-2), Article 213, requires user consent for any storage on terminal equipment, except where strictly necessary for service delivery.
"Similar technologies" in this law include: cookies, localStorage, sessionStorage, IndexedDB, tracking pixels, device fingerprinting, web beacons.
2. Funkie does not use classic cookies
The funkie.si website and the business.funkie.si business platform set no HTTP cookies without your consent. Strictly necessary data lives in browser localStorage. The only cookies the sites may set are the analytics cookies in section 6, and only after your explicit consent on the banner.
3. Strictly necessary local storage
We store only the following items in browser localStorage, which are strictly necessary for service operation and under ZEKom-2 Article 213 do not require consent:
| Key name | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
| funkie-analytics-consent | Your choice on the consent banner (accepted or declined) so we do not show it again. Storing the choice itself is strictly necessary | Persistent (until you clear the browser or reset the choice in section 6) |
| funkie-auth (on business.funkie.si after sign-in) | JWT for maintaining a signed-in session on the business platform. Strictly necessary for authentication | Until logout or token expiry (max 7 days) |
| funkie-token, funkie-refresh-token, funkie-user (on business.funkie.si after sign-in) | JWT access + refresh tokens and a cached copy of basic user info in localStorage. Strictly necessary for authentication on the business platform | Until logout or token expiry (max 7 days) |
| funkie:ios-banner-dismissed (on app.funkie.si) | Flag that you dismissed the iOS app banner so we stop showing it | Persistent (until you clear the browser) |
4. What we do NOT use
Funkie does not use:
- Google Ads or Google Tag Manager for advertising.
- Facebook Pixel, Meta Conversion API, TikTok Pixel, LinkedIn Insight Tag.
- Advertising or retargeting cookies.
- Third-party embedded video (YouTube, Vimeo autoplay) on the websites.
- Third-party fonts loaded from Google Fonts CDN. Fonts are self-hosted.
- Google Maps, Mapbox or MapTiler. The map on app.funkie.si is rendered with OpenFreeMap, a free open-source service; see the next section.
- Third-party chat or support widgets (Intercom, Crisp, Tawk.to).
- Device fingerprinting or other non-consensual tracking.
5. The app.funkie.si map and OpenFreeMap
The web app at app.funkie.si renders its map with OpenFreeMap, a free open-source service that delivers tiles directly to your browser. This means:
- OpenFreeMap receives your IP address and the area of the map you are viewing each time a tile is requested.
- OpenFreeMap is an EU project (Hungary). Per its policy it does not log IPs, set cookies, or track users. See openfreemap.org/privacy.
- When you press Show my location, the web app reads your coordinates locally only and does not send them to a Funkie server.
If you would rather not contact OpenFreeMap, do not use the map feature. The funkie.si and business.funkie.si sites do not load the map.
6. Consent-based analytics: Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity
On funkie.si and business.funkie.si we use Google Analytics 4 (traffic measurement) and Microsoft Clarity (anonymised session replays and heatmaps) to understand how visitors use the sites. In line with ZEKom-2 Article 213 and the GDPR (Art. 6(1)(a) - consent), these tools load only after you click "Accept" on the consent banner. If you click "Decline" or make no choice, nothing loads and no cookie is set.
Cookies set after consent:
| Cookie | Provider | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| _ga, _ga_* | Google Ireland Ltd. | Distinguishing visitors, traffic statistics. IPs are anonymised and advertising signals are off (Consent Mode v2: ad_storage denied) | 13 months |
| _clck | Microsoft Ireland Operations Ltd. | Clarity identifier linking visits by the same visitor | 12 months |
| _clsk | Microsoft Ireland Operations Ltd. | Linking events of one session into a session replay | 1 day |
More about the processing: Google Privacy Policy and Microsoft Privacy Statement. Both providers may transfer data to the US under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework.
Withdrawing consent: click the button below to reset your choice; on the next page load the banner appears again and analytics stays off without a new consent.
7. Funkie mobile app
The iOS app uses two kinds of local storage:
- iOS Keychain - used solely to securely store authentication tokens (JWT access and refresh). Keychain is a built-in iOS security mechanism accessible only to the storing app. Strictly necessary.
- Image cache (NSCache) - in-memory cache of activity images for faster rendering, up to 50 MB or 100 images. Automatically cleared on app close or memory pressure.
Both constitute strictly necessary storage for app operation and do not require consent under GDPR/ZVOP-2.
8. What you can do
You can clear local storage in your browser at any time:
- Chrome / Edge: Settings → Privacy and security → Clear browsing data → Cookies and other site data.
- Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data → Clear Data.
- Safari: Safari → Settings → Privacy → Manage Website Data.
- Funkie mobile app: Profile → Delete account (also deletes all local data). Alternatively delete the app.
Clearing local storage does not affect the service - you will simply see the local-storage notice again on next visit.
9. Updates to this policy
We will update this policy if we introduce any new technology affecting it. Changes will be published on this page with the last-updated date. Any new technology that requires consent will be added to the consent banner before it first loads.
