Ljubljana in the Rain: 12 Indoor Things to Do (2026)

Rain clears Ljubljana’s old town in minutes, and the arcades along the river only hold so many people. Twelve places below are indoors and open regardless. Prices run from 8.40 EUR for an hour of billiards to 140 EUR for a room you play blindfolded, and most of them take same-day bookings.
How much does an indoor activity in Ljubljana cost?
Less than the guidebooks suggest, and often less than a museum ticket for two. The catch is that half of this list is not priced per person at all. You pay for a table, a lane, a court or a booking slot, and that number does not double because there are two of you.
The prices below were read on each operator’s own website in August 2026. Where two figures exist, the first is the daytime or weekday rate.

Six of the twelve are within a fifteen-minute walk of Prešeren Square. The other six are worth a short trip, and the section below says which trip is worth making.
What is there to do in central Ljubljana when it rains?
If you are staying in the old town and would rather not travel, these four are the closest and the least logistics.
City centre, billiards
Biljardna hiša Ljubljana
A table costs 8.40 EUR an hour between 8am and 10am and climbs through the day to 17.40 EUR after 8pm. On Slovenska cesta, the main road through the centre, and open until midnight on weekdays. The cheapest way in this list to spend three hours out of the weather.
City centre, escape room
The Key Room Escape
65 EUR for two, 80 EUR for four, 110 EUR for six. Da Vinci and Sherlock run 70 minutes, Wonderland 60. Their own site puts it about 50 metres from the Prešeren monument, at the start of Trubarjeva, so it is the shortest walk on this page. Open daily 10.30 to 21.00.
City centre, escape room
MindMaze Ljubljana
68 EUR for two and 78 EUR for three or four. Two rooms, The Alchemist's Chamber and Occupied Ljubljana, both 60 minutes. Their address sits on Trubarjeva between the Prešeren monument and the Dragon Bridge. Bookings only, no walk-ins.
City centre, flight simulator
Flight Simulator #1
Thirty minutes costs 105 EUR and an hour 130 EUR, for up to three people in the cockpit. Miklošičeva cesta runs from Prešeren Square to the railway station, so it is a three-minute walk from either. The most weather-proof thing you can do here, since the weather is simulated too.
Nothing in that group needs a car and none of it is seasonal, which is the main advantage over the castle funicular and the river boats.
Which escape rooms in Ljubljana can you play in English?
Ask when you book, because none of the Ljubljana operators publishes a blanket guarantee. What they do say is useful on its own.
MindMaze runs an English version of its website. Enigmarium states on its own site that knowledge of a foreign language is not required, because the game works on a symbolic level. In practice the language is set per booking, so name it in the booking note rather than at the door.

Enigmarium Ljubljana
84 EUR per team of two to four, with a 21 EUR surcharge for a fifth and sixth player. Four rooms across two doors on Trdinova ulica, a ten-minute walk north of the old town. Open daily from 9.00, last slot starting at 21.00, pre-booked sessions only.
City centre, not quite an escape room
Sensperience
Ninety minutes blindfolded, booked privately for your group of two to four, at the same Trdinova address as Enigmarium. Nothing is solved and nowhere is escaped. Slots are released a month at a time, which makes it a poor last-minute option and a good one if you are planning ahead.

Is BTC City worth the trip in bad weather?
It is if there are more than four of you, or if you have half a day rather than an hour. BTC City is a large retail and leisure district a few kilometres east of the centre, reachable by city bus, and three of the twelve places on this page sit inside it.

WOOP! Karting
One of only two indoor karting tracks in the country. A multi-level circuit with electric karts, 16.50 EUR a run and 19.50 EUR for the two-seater. Adults and children from 140 cm drive alone, smaller children ride as passengers.

WOOP! Arena
8 EUR for a single game, or 16 EUR for three under their two-plus-one offer. The cheapest thing on this page and the easiest to fit into a gap, since a game is over in minutes rather than an hour.
BTC City, trampolines
WOOP! Fun Park
16.50 EUR for 60 minutes, 23.50 EUR for 90 and 29.50 EUR for two hours. Grip socks and the wristband are extra at 2.50 EUR each, so budget five euros a head on top. Closed on Mondays, which catches people out.
The reason to make one trip rather than three is that karting, VR, trampolines, bowling and an escape room are within a few minutes of each other at the same address. WOOP! Bowling charges 33 EUR per lane per hour there, which is the priciest bowling in the city, so if bowling is the point, the next section is the better answer.
Where do you go with a group of six or more?
Group size is the constraint that catches visitors out. Most escape rooms in Ljubljana cap at six, and above that you need two parallel bookings at the same hour, which on a Friday evening do not exist.

A lane costs 25 EUR an hour on weekdays until 5pm, 30 EUR later and 35 EUR after 8pm on Friday and Saturday. Shoes are 2 EUR. Ten people on two lanes is 50 EUR for the hour. Billiards in the same building from 10 EUR an hour.

A guided 90-minute session. The rate falls with group size: 44 EUR each for one or two, 33 EUR for three or four, 29 EUR for five or more. It sounds more dangerous than it is, and it is the only thing here that gets cheaper the more of you turn up. Booking only.

Bolder Scena Ljubljana
Open every day from 9.00 to 22.30, the longest hours of any climbing wall in the city. 14.50 EUR for a single visit, 11.50 EUR for students and 10 EUR before 1pm. Bouldering needs no rope, no partner and no instruction, so a group can simply turn up.
Bouldering is the one on this page you can decide on twenty minutes beforehand with eight people and still get in. If Bolder Scena is busy, the Ljubljana climbing centre at Rudnik charges 16.50 EUR for a full day and has the biggest wall in town, and every wall in the country is on the climbing map.
What does not work in Ljubljana when it rains?
This is the half nobody writes down, and it is the half that ruins an afternoon.
Two of Ljubljana’s seven escape rooms are played outdoors, at the castle and in the woods at Čučkova, so rain spoils them exactly as it spoils a picnic. Paddleboarding on the Ljubljanica, the hippodrome, the shooting range at Rudnik and the padel courts in Tivoli are all outdoors as well; the padel courts publish an 8am to 10pm schedule but close in bad weather. And the VR centre on Latinski trg still appears on plenty of indoor lists while its own site says it is not operating during a move to new premises.

For climbing, billiards and bowling on a weekday, no. For axe throwing, the flight simulator, Sensperience and every escape room, yes, since they run to fixed slots. Friday and Saturday evenings fill several days in advance.
What is open late in Ljubljana?
Billiards until midnight on weekdays, bouldering at Bolder Scena until 22.30, karting until 23.00 on Fridays and Saturdays, and bowling until late at Klub 300. Escape rooms take their last booking at 21.00.
Before you book
Two things. First, check the opening day rather than the opening hour: several places here close on Monday, and the trampoline park is one of them. Second, check whether the price is per person or per unit, because for two people that difference is the whole bill.
